Islamic Etiquette
Maulana Dr. Waffie Mohammed
Islam is a complete way of life. It is a guide to people of different cultures throughout the world in every age. Its aim is for us to succeed in this world with refinement, as well as in the next. Indeed, our success in the next life depends on the kind of life we live here.
As a result Muslims have to be careful about how they live every moment of the day and the night. Allah sent the Book as the Complete Code, and, as He says that He is never going to change His Words; whatever He revealed is binding on every believer.
Allah sent the Prophet (pboh) as the model for mankind at large; as a result his Traditions should be known and followed.
We find in his Traditions all that is required to live a successful life, as an individual and also as a member of the community. We also find in his Traditions all that is necessary to help a person strengthen his relation with his Maker on one hand, and with his fellow human beings on the other. Muslims are therefore required to follow what he gave as the Book and his Sunnah (Traditions).
The Text, A Handbook of Islamic Etiquette is a text book prepared for the Markaz Al Ihsaan. The book is part of the syllabus for Jurisprudence and compliments other subjects to comprehensively cover the Aalim course in Islamic Jurisprudence. The presentation is in point form, making it easy to remember, with ample quotations from Ahadith and Qur'an to support the subject.
Readers are encouraged to read and apply all that is put in each topic, as it is the only way that they will be moving in the right direction as a believer in Islam and a follower of the Prophet (pboh).
