A Handbook of Islamic Beliefs
Maulana Dr. Waffie Mohammed
Islam is the last of the Revealed Religions, sent by Allah for the whole of mankind. Before the beginning of this Faith, messengers with Divinely sent messages came to every tribe and nation. However, these messages were specific to the particular people. But Islam came to the entire human race in every place and age.
As it is a revealed way of life, it incorporates the revealed guidance that came before. It corrects the mistakes that the followers of the different messengers have been making and invites them to accept the teachings of Muhammad (pboh).
The main difference between Islam and all other religions is the concept of God (Allah). It teaches that Allah is the indivisible One without a partner or manifestations. No creature can ever resemble Him, or function like Him.
Islam invites everyone to become a believer in Allah’s Oneness, to turn to Him in times of need and to keep in mind that the return is to Him. Man should not tie himself up in the web of material pursuits, as it will distract him from his goal and divert his focus from the Truth.
Islam invites everyone to keep his Faith pure and worship only Allah Who is Lord of everything.
